Catholic Charities Worcester County has been a pillar of strength for our community for over seven decades. Our mission is simple: ensure everyone has access to the basic necessities they deserve, while also tackling the root causes of socio-economic insecurity and hardship.
Where Dignity Meets Opportunity
The Mercy Centre, one of our cornerstone services, is a shining example of our commitment to empowerment. Established by the Sisters of Mercy, the Centre and Catholic Charities, has proudly served adults and seniors with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 60 years.
More Than Just Care. It’s Transformation.
The Mercy Centre has grown from a school for children to a comprehensive support system for adults and seniors with I/DD. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our community, participants, families, board members, and exceptional staff, the Centre empowers our participants to lead fulfilling lives.
Your Support Makes a Difference!

Our goal is to establish a cutting-edge facility that meets the evolving requirements of both current and future participants. We’re committed to tackling the pressing challenge of limited options and increasing demand for specialized services, ensuring that every individual receives the utmost care and support.

We are launching this campaign to address the pressing need for expanded and enhanced facilities to better serve adults and seniors in the I/DD community throughout Worcester County. Our current facility, while functional, no longer meets the need for our current and future participants.
The Mercy Centre will be relocating to a newly renovated facility in West Boylston, just over the Worcester line. By relocating, we aim to not only sustain our vital services but also to expand and enhance them, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community. This new facility will position Mercy Centre as a leader in offering crucial services to individuals who have been disproportionately affected by recent reductions in program availability.
The renovation work encompasses a complete overhaul of the building the Mercy Centre will be moving into which includes asbestos removal, demolition, new plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, interior floors, walls, partitions, windows, ceilings, painting, and fire suppression. This investment will create an optimal environment for our participants, ensuring that every aspect of our programs aligns with the highest standards of care.
